Who can participate in the academy?
Youth soccer players in the North Texas area (Frisco, Allen, Plano, McKinney, Little Elm, The Colony, Prosper, Carrollton and Farmers Branch). Currently boys aged 6-14 who are interested in maximizing their personal development and soccer skills may tryout for the academy.
What league or soccer association does the Soccer Academy participate in?
FC FAST primarily plays outdoor academy soccer in the The PIT Ligue Elite and select soccer in the Classic League (CCSAI) and Plano Invitational Premier League (PIPL). We also play futsal at City Futsal (Carrollton/Richardson) as our preferred indoor option but also play standard indoor soccer at a couple of different venues including The PIT (Frisco), Fieldhouse (Frisco), Blue Sky (The Colony), and Plano Sports Authority (PSA).
How often does FC FAST train?
We have two practices a week. Some of our players play for various recreational teams and practice with them and are free to attend our skills sessions for supplemental training. Practices days are determined by individual team coaches but most occur on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the fall and spring seasons.
How much does the program cost?
Our program currently cost around $250 per season for academy and $500 per season for select which includes league registration dues, referee fees, equipment cost, two tournaments and custom uniforms plus a practice jersey.
Why is the programs so inexpensive?
Playing soccer shouldn't cost and arm and a leg (which we need of course to play). Our dedicated coaches love soccer and kids, they volunteer their time. We also don't rent out expensive fields, lighting equipment, travel to tournaments in Florida or require $200 kits (uniforms) to play.
When/where do you play games?
Some of our teams play on Saturdays while others play on Sundays. Academy games (U10 and below) primarily play at The PIT in Plano while our select teams primarily play at Carpenter Park in Plano for those teams in various Plano parks and at Richland College or Monogram Soccer Park for those that play in the Classic League.
What is the format of your academy games?
The format varies by age group as follow (each includes a goalie) as of the Fall of 2019:
- 2011 (U9 Academy) = 7v7
- 2008 (U12 Academy) = 9v9
- 2007 (U13 Select) = 11v11
- 2006 (U14 Select) = 11v11
